Specialty Care Conference for Primary Care (New Ulm, Minnesota)
New Ulm Medical Center, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Minneapolis Heart Institute invite physicians, nurses and other interested health care professionals to explore how primary care relates to specialty care.
The second annual Specialty Care Conference for Primary Care includes these agenda highlights:
Friday, October 10
- Kevin Graham, MD, cardiologist with Minneapolis Heart Institute, will discuss heart care and give an update on The Heart of New Ulm, an effort to eliminate heart attacks among residents of New Ulm, Minnesota.
- Tom Davin, MD, nephrologist, Kidney Specialists of Minneapolis, will discuss caring for patients with renal failure.
Saturday, October 11
- Amir Mehbod, MD, orthopedic surgeon from Twin Cities Spine, will speak about spine care.
- Michael Mooney, MD, interventional cardiologist from Minneapolis Heart Institute, will discuss hypothermia treatment for cardiac emergencies.
- Kathy Gomer, MD, pulmonologist from Minnesota Lung Center, will speak about BiPap treatment.
- Nancy Hutchinson, MD, medical director for cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema at the Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, will present on lymphedema treatment.
- Shanna Bunce, MD, pediatrician at New Ulm Medical Center, will discuss pediatric medication.
The $85 registration fee covers meals, conference materials and the opportunity to earn 5.75 continuing education credits.
