Abbott Northwestern partners with MINCEP Epilepsy Care, an internationally recognized
leader in epilepsy care that is distinguished by outstanding results and is one
of the largest programs in the United States.
More than 2.3 million Americans have epilepsy, and it frequently affects children
and young adults in the most critical years of their development.
Our program is led by epileptologists experienced in the full range of diagnostic,
medical and surgical options. These physicians participate in clinical trials
of new medications and specialize in helping individuals whose seizures have not
responded to earlier treatments.
Continuing the tradition of conducting leading edge research, Abbott Northwestern
and MINCEP Epilepsy Care, represent the Upper Midwest
in a national study for epilepsy care and treatment. The study is sponsored by
the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Participants receive
state-of-the-art treatment to determine if surgical treatment is more effective
than medication.
