Measures of care
Patients and families have a right to know about the quality of care they receive at Owatonna Hospital. That’s why we monitor the quality of our care constantly and use it to guide our quality improvement initiatives. Our standards of care are based on suggestions by non-profit and governmental institutions that base their recommendations on scientific knowledge and research.
We voluntarily participate in several state and national initiatives that allow us to show our performance using information technology for real time viewing and comparisons.
We recently joined the Institute for Healthcare Improvements 5 Million Lives Campaign, which is an initiative to protect patients from five million incidents of medical harm over the next two years.
In 2008, Owatonna Hospital received the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) Innovation of the Year in Patient Care Award for it's Cardiac Heart Failure Initiative.
Below are several websites that provide consumer-friendly information about the quality of our care and safety initiatives, with comparison data from other organizations, which offer similar services and are of similar size to Owatonna Hospital.
