Neuroscience Institute

The Neuroscience Institute in Sartell treats neuromuscular disorders such as:

  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • peripheral neuropathy
  • radiculopathy
  • myopathy

We also help people with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders including:

  • essential tremor
  • dystonia
  • restless legs syndrome

Procedures include:

  • electromyography (EMG)
  • botulinum toxin (botox) injections for hemifacial spasm, blephrospasm and cervical dystonia

Our staff includes:

Pushp Kapoor, MD, MRCPI, moved to the U.S. from England in 1992 after being trained in internal medicine and neurology. Before caring for patients at the Sartell Outpatient Center, he was a neurologist with the MINCEP Program in Minneapolis, Minn. and Altru Health System in Grand Forks, N.D. His education includes fellowships in neurophysiology, University Medical Center, Jackson, Miss; and in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, at the Neurological Institute, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York, N.Y. He conducted his neurology residency, State University of New York at Buffalo, received a LRCP, MRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of London, England and received a medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. His certifications include: board certification in neurology – American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; board certification in subspecialty of clinical neurophysiology – American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland.  

His clinical interests include neuromuscular disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy and myopathy; and Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders including essential tremor, dystonia and restless legs syndrome. His procedural interests include electromyography (EMG) and botulinum toxin (botox) injections for hemifacial spasm, blephrospasm and cervical dystonia.
