United Hospital MNA co-chair and orthopedic staff nurse Linda Slattengren, RN, was elected by her peers in October 2005 to serve as president of the Minnesota Nurses Association. Slattengren’s election is especially notable since she is a bedside nurse in an acute care community hospital in addition to being a MNA representative. Slattengren has been a nurse at United since 1974, when she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was elected United’s MNA chair in 1999.
